Production Planning/Materials Assistant
Reports to: Production Planning/Materials Manager
Duties and responsibilities include the following:
a) Production Planning:
a. Assist in scheduling of production, monitoring shift schedules, providing training and coaching, setting production goals and expectations.
b. Utilize problem solving techniques, teamwork building strategies and continuous improvement principles to meet or exceed production requirements and customer expectations.
c. Complete and assist in administration of internal training programs as required.
d. Represent the Planning Department in company meetings when needed
e. Responsible for the monitoring and verification of time and attendance.
b) Materials Purchasing:
a. Assist in procurement of materials for all departments, ensuring that all transactions are legal, ethical, cost efficient, timely, and within the best interest of Joy Signal Technology.
b. Assist in acquiring requested material information.
c. Place and confirm vendor orders.
d. Ensure that ordered items are received within the time frames in which they were requested.
e. Have a commitment to learning and adhering to Safety and Quality standards.
f. Maintain files, records, contracts, and pertinent information in an organized and effective manner.
g. Perform other auxiliary functions as required.
Required Skills:
Written/verbal communication skills
Organizational/prioritizing skills
Detail oriented
Strong computer skills: MS Excel and Word. Comfortable navigating advanced computer settings. Will train on use of internal software.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience with SQL computer programming
Experience with an ERP system
Experience with scheduling software or production scheduling
Experience in a manufacturing environment
