Under general supervision from the CEO, the Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining data integrity and integration within the primary data warehouses including the Enterprise Resource Planner, Order Management System, Warehouse Management System and the Transportation Suite. Additionally, the DBA is the companys primary resource for designing, creating and implementing business reports in both SAP Crystal Reports XI and Microsofts SQL Server Reporting Services. Also the DBA must be able to provide first line support for the companys business applications. Working within the companys database architecture, the DBA must be able to identify root causes and determine necessary solutions.

Additionally the position assists in maintaining the computing environment and network and data security by assisting the IT Support Specialist in identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring network performance and security; designs, supports, maintains, and evaluates computer networking and telecommunication systems; installs, configures, and maintains both physical and virtual computer servers; maintains employee network and e-mail accounts; performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Duties

At the request of management, create, modify and validate companywide reports using Crystal Reports XI and SSRS

Create ad-hoc reports to meet user requests and business objectives

Schedule and run pre-developed reports, ranging from daily to quarterly in frequency

Audit scheduled reports regularly to ensure continued accuracy

Maintains database results by setting and enforcing standards and controls

Troubleshoot and resolve database, application and data related issues

Continually anticipate internal and external needs, developing solutions that are client ready, informative, effective and insightful

Provides solutions to user identified problems.

Collaborate with multiple groups; i.e. departments, end users, managers, customers and vendors, in order to determine needs and develop needed IT solutions

Record and maintain procedural documentation for any modified or newly developed business system automations

Insure connectivity with ERP / WMS / TMS / OMS database(s) resulting in 24/7 availability for the placing and fulfillment of customer orders

Performs database monitoring, tuning and optimization

Work with the Marketing department to monitor, maintain and enhance the ERP Customer web portal to maximize customers positive experience when utilizing the site;

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Assists in providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software support; maintains LAN user documentation including hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information

Qualifications

Education

Any combination of education and training equivalent to possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or other related areas; such education should be at a level which demonstrates the ability to perform duties comparable to those listed herein.

In-depth knowledge of:

Crystal Reports, product (XI) and Microsofts SSRS

ETL methodologies

SQL query skills

Database design and management, and relational database theory.

Security issues involved in maintaining and safeguarding proprietary and customer data.

Skills/Qualifications:

Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

Proven skills to properly evaluate and interpret user requirements

Ability to manage, translate, and summate complex data requests

Ability to trace report performance issues to root cause

Skilled in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports and responding to correspondence

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

Strong project management skills
