ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Diagnose and repair all types of trucks and equipment used in the logging, vegetation management and heavy haul transportation operations
Conduct safety inspections of equipment and maintain maintenance records
Have tools necessary to perform repairs of equipment; A Service Truck equipped with Air Compressor, Welder, and Hoist will be provided to those individuals with a valid CDL upon evidence of being able to work independently
Work well with fellow employees, staff, and Supervisors
Be able to complete assign tasks in a timely and efficient manner without direct supervision
Apply all safety rules and regulations, maintain work area and prevent work hazards
Operate Equipment as needed in a safe manner
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge to complete repairs.
Ability to fill out Maintenance Repair forms in English.
Apply safety procedures and principles daily, protecting yourself and others from injury
Experience with mechanical equipment
Knowledge of diesel motors
Fabrications and welding
Proper use of hand and powered tools used in a maintenance shop
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid California Drivers License
Clean driving record
2 years' diesel/heavy equipment mechanic experience required
Working knowledge of both gasoline and diesel engines, equipment hydraulics, and electrical systems
Proven prior experience working on various machines and equipment; Farm, trucking, construction, logging, or related industry experience preferred
All applicants must be at least age 18
Required to have own tools
Work is M-F 8am 4:30pm with overtime and weekend work as needed
PHYSCIAL DEMANDS
Some aspects of this position require working outdoors in all kinds of weather.
This position requires standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling and reaching.
Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects, up to 50 pounds, as necessary to perform job functions

Shop and field repairs
Ability to work in weather extremes with exposure to the outdoors
