Driver-Attendant. This is an entry level position for candidates that are interested in pursuing a career in the health/medical fields or other related careers that have heavy contact with the public. We prefer applicants that have completed EMT training certification.
We can offer IMMEDIATE FULL-TIME positions in the Chico and surrounding areas. Our company provides custom specialized non-emergency medical transportation for the elderly and physically challenged people in our community. We are a "Hands on" and "Door through Door" service. This position can be physically demanding. Must be over 25 years old and have a good driving record. This job is very rewarding. This job is available all year round. Work hours can be arranged to be student schedule friendly.
Merit Medi-Trans provides transportation services to people with special needs. Our clients include persons who are confined to wheelchairs, who need assistance in walking, whose medical treatments cause weakness or dizziness, as well as persons who require supervision due to mental or emotional disabilities. Merit Medi-Trans can train you in procedures to provide the assistance our clients need, but we cannot train you to be caring and compassionate. Full time work shifts are scheduled Monday through Sunday - we have several shifts each day.
EARLY AM shifts (limited) that start between (3am to 4am),
REGULAR DAY shifts that start between (7:00am to 10:00am),
EVENING shifts (limited) that start between (1pm to 5pm),
OVERNIGHT shifts (limited) that start at (12am),
***Most work shifts are the regular day time hours - range of work hours are roughly 7am to 5pm

Our Red Bluff Shop is located near St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff.
Please provide clear copies of your current driver's license, current CA DMV printout, social security card, and all relevant medical training certifications turned in with your completed application packet.
Every driver applicant is required to supply a current 3 year DMV report at the time of application. You may have no more than two (2) points on your record for the prior three (3) year period. If at any time during employment a driver exceeds two (2) points on his/her DMV or becomes uninsurable for any reason, his/her employment will be terminated. A good driving record is essential for a Merit Medi-Trans driver.
There will be a pre-employment exam completed BEFORE the first day of employment. The State of California requires that all drivers obtain a DL51 medical examiner's certificate which includes a 10-panel drug screen and alcohol test.
Although the patients we transport are in stable condition, the State of California requires that each driver obtain a First Aid and CPR certificate from a qualified training provider prior to the end of his/her training period.
