Description Robert Half currently has an opening for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk. This Accounts Payable Clerk opportunity will be located in the Chula Vista, California area and will be a short-term contract / temporary position. This department offers prospects of career growth and advancement. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be required to match and batch code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks. This Accounts Payable clerk will be supporting a very busy municipal office in Chula Vista, CA!This is an immediate, on-site, contract position that starts ASAP! This is 100% on-site, long-term contract. You will be matching, batching, coding 200 invoices per week in Tyler Munis accounting system. Previous experience processing accounts payable required. Provide support during internal and external audits
Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents
Ensure compliance with company policies while carrying out daily processes and controls accurately and on time
Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners
Verify, log and send checks, including facilitating special handling
Carry out additional projects as required
Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks
Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily
Requirements - Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Practical knowledge of customer invoices
General familiarity with Coding Invoices
Well-founded grasp of Code Invoices
Quality experience with Approved Invoices
Deep understanding of Batch Processing
Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
Coding experience highly desired
Proven knowledge of Enter Invoices
Foundational knowledge in Coding
New world systems experience required
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
Excellent attention to detail
