The Data Specialist will be responsible for managing and creating video proxies packages and audio reference material. Technical knowledge of digital media and its core components, including video mezzanine formats, audio, metadata, subtitles, closed captions and artwork is necessary. Tasks may include video and audio editorial; transcoding and encoding; frame rate conversions; video repairs and restoration; audio conforming / retiming; subtitle reformats; metadata XML creation / editorial; quality control.Extensive knowledge of video encoding and transcoding systems is essential. A background in processing UHD media and handling IMF is a plus.The ideal candidate is highly motivated, possesses a flexible attitude, and adapts quickly in a fast-paced environment. In addition, they must be able to work as part of a team that deals with changing priorities and workloads.Responsible for receiving, logging, tracking of file-based assets in Culver City and facilitate their accessibility on various production networks through a variety of transmission means.

Responsible for notifying client services/recipients when digital files are received to their attention upon receipt.
Responsible for maintaining full chain of custody for all digital media including checking out files to individuals for productions purposes or other transactions.
Responsible for all digital media inquiries, including locating, retrieving and confirming current disposition of all digital.
Run queries that include full client inventory with aging reports for all digital media
Responsible for maintaining retention policies for all digital media for all clients/departments in Pixelogic’s Culver City location.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized system.
Facilitate weekly audits of all stored digital media for reconciliation ad audit purposes, including fixing records if discrepancies are found.
Responsible for maintaining all receiving documentation for tracking, reconciliation and audit purposes
Identify and address discrepancies in media files that may arise during the creation and calibration of production reference files and related projects.
RequirementsStrong knowledge of UHD content and IMF
Familiarity and working knowledge with some tools and applications including but not limited to DVS Clipster, Colorfront’s Transkoder, DaVinci Resolve, Vantage, Aurora, Final Cut Pro and Pro Tools are essential.
Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
