job summary:

The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting network architect solutions for all network related components for the LAN, WAN and telecommunications environments including: routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, WAP, MPLS, T1, SIP, PRI, etc. In addition, assist as needed in the support of Windows AD Network Operating System ensuring high availability, security, and JSOX compliance. Assist in supporting all critical core applications which include (but not limited to): SAP, Oracle, WMS, Cognos, Exchange, WISE, Intranet, VMWare, Cisco Call Manager, and Cisco Unity.

responsibilities:

1. Provide engineering support for the company network environment by implementing system configuration, installation and documenting the systems and standards


2. Participate in the design, upgrade, optimize, and maintain current WAN infrastructure which includes affiliate and third-party sites connected via multiple MPLS networks and VPN to provide the business with high availability and redundancy as per service level commitments.


3. Responsible for support of the wired and wireless Local Area Networks (LAN's) throughout the organization. This includes implementation and maintenance of network hardware (SDWAN, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, console servers, etc.) at various geographic locations.


4. Maintain accurate standard operational procedures, Network/Telecommunications documentation and diagrams.


5. Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments


6. Provide secondary support for the VOIP system issues and day-to-day systems administration


7. Ensure JSOX compliance for all network infrastructure hardware and software systems


8. Participate in key process improvements for all technical environments.


9. Utilize network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds network tools) to ensures alerts are sent on availability of all resources and metrics are produced daily/monthly.


10. Analyze and troubleshoot network and telecommunications issues to resolve outages in a manner that minimizes impact to the company and its respective business units.


11. Contribute to the planning of short and long-term network capacity requirements.


12. Report all Risk Management Policy violations in accordance with policy.


13. Engineer, implement and monitor security measures and requirements for the protection of computer systems, networks and information


14. Investigate new technical solutions and security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.


15. Provide support for the IT Security Response team about security incidents. Implement security improvements based on CIS and vCISO recommendations




QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience with CISCO routers, switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, LAN/WAN Wireless technology proficiency in telecommunications protocols/technologies including: VOIP, SIP, MPLS, T1, PRI, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Contact Center Express as well as experience with failover and clustering technologies.


2. Expert knowledge of IP Networking including routing, switching, TCP/IP, IP subnetting, load balancing, traffic optimization, performance monitoring, Cisco IOS, BGP, OSPF, ACL's, HSRP, MPLS, SNMP, SFTP, SSH, STP, hierarchical NTP design, TACACS, RADIUS, VLAN trunking, and various VPN technologies.


3. Team player with a high level of dedication and commitment to excellence.


4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required - including the ability to create project plans in Microsoft Project and execute them with the IT team and business.


5. Results oriented, self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of IT projects that are delivered on time and within budget.


6. Ability to perform routine network tasks and handle emergencies during non-business hours, including on-call, evenings, and weekends.


7. Proven work experience as a network engineer and/or information security engineer


8. Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools.


9. Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.


10. Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure


11. Experience with SDWAN technology.


12. Availability for domestic travel with overnight accommodations as needed Must be able to follow Company policies and safety guidelines
