Job Description

Purpose of Position:
Under the direction of the department manager, to guide and direct the heavy equipment crew operations and multi-function projects of the company while maintaining high quality work at cost-effective prices.

Essential Job Functions:

Guide and direct the efforts of the heavy equipment operations and plumbing crews including support delivery drivers. Maintain cost control on project work through careful coordination of schedules, equipment, tools and materials.

Manage multi-function projects primarily site preparation, excavation, concretedemolition, and asphalt paving.

Coordinate cost estimates for projects with department manager and/or other appropriate personnel.

Insure adherence to the department /company goals, which have been established to maintain a safe working environment.

Considering safety to be an integral part of the design, repair, and construction of facilities and equipment.
Monitoring jobs to make sure thatproductivity, quality and safety standards are being met.
Assist in obtaining permits and inspectionson project work.

Guide and direct the work crews for effective manpower and teamwork development through:
Assisting in hiring, training, and evaluating personnel.
Insuring that employees technical skills continue to be developed in these particular disciplines so that existing and future business needs are met efficiently.
Maintaining a working environment in which positive employer/employee relations motivate the enthusiasm necessary for accomplishing the challenging goals the department is called upon to meet throughout the company.

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the area of heavy equipment and plumbing operations.

Must meet and maintain the requirements of a Class A Heavy Equipment Operator, to include having a Class A driver’s license and an acceptable DMV record.

Must have good interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to work from a ladder.

Able to meet our bio-security requirements.

Able to follow end enforce all company rules, guidelines and policies.

Able to take and respond to after regular work hour maintenance calls.
