Wolfe Ave, Bldg 3810, Edwards AFB, CA, 93524 USAFUNCTION:Perform the work necessary to build, test, inspect and instrument a wide variety of gas turbine engines and associated new technologies. Work with engineering to develop tooling, install instrumentation and devise methods to build engines and related component test hardware. Provide related support for engine test programs and associated projects.TYPICAL DUTIES:Investigate problems and make repairs or modifications as necessary

Perform a variety of related duties in support of engine programs

Act as a mentor for other team members or employees training to achieve Engine Mechanic or Sr. Engine Mechanic

Refer difficulties to leader or supervisor

Perform routine maintenance of equipment

Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits or certifications as required

Perform additional tasks in support of business objectives and/or to develop the individuals' skills

Handle process related waste in accordance with approved documented work instructions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Strong communication skills

Work overtime when required

Ability to lift heavy objects as required

Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards

Recommend improved EH&S practices

Comply with the Quality Policy and applicable and company Quality rules and procedures

Attend scheduled training program

Support and participate in continuous improvement activities, including Kaizen, 6S, and QCPC.

Develop new skills necessary to support business needs and job satisfaction

Utilize all personal protective equipment (PPE) required as a result of Process Risk Analysis
