Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP) is looking for a key member to join the accounting team in our Folsom, CA office. The position is responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and financial operations, including the preparation of monthly financial statements. This is a hands-on management role that includes preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules. The position will report to the CFO and will manage the accounting department. Working as part of the team and independently, the Accounting Manager may have up to 3 direct reports.

Essential Job Duties and Functions:
  • Manage all financial operations, including but not limited to, general ledger accounting and reconciliations, client invoicing, and payroll
  • Manage a timely and efficient month-end close process
  • Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accurate balances are reflected in the financial statements
  • Review the coding of vendor invoices for improved reporting and consistency
  • Review and analyze monthly financials for trend variances and research questions raised by management during the monthly financial reviews
  • Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
  • Prepare accurate and timely internal monthly financial statements
  • Heavy participation in the annual financial audit
  • Perform daily cash management duties and maintain monthly cash forecasts
  • Ensure appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
  • Regularly interact with senior management to ensure business unit objectives are met
  • Prepare financial schedules for the management team to support decision-making
  • Provide financial information as needed for annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts
  • Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
  • Hire and train skilled accounting staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • Six years of relevant progressive accounting experience, with at least three years in an operational accounting management role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all accounting functions
  • Strong knowledge and experience with US GAAP accounting
  • Ability to effectively manage a multi-location organization and adapt to different cultures
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including vlookups, pivot tables, and complex forecast models)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact with various levels of management
  • Ability to identify and execute operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives to improve resource optimization
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work regular hours, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, as well as beyond as needed
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple duties and bring open issues to successful resolution
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Word and Outlook
  • Ability to clear background check as required by VIP
  • Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts of algebra
  • Ability to maintain strict confidential standards
  • Ability to understand and interpret established policies, as well as make decisions in accordance with established policies
  • Excellent problem management and organizational skills
  • Must be detail oriented and thorough

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains accounting application
  • Experience with the Unanet project and resource management application
  • Experience working in a service-based organization and an understanding of the applicable revenue recognition accounting standards
  • Experience working for a software organization and an understanding of the applicable software development and revenue recognition accounting standards
  • Advanced accounting experience in a high-volume environment
  • SQL database and query experience
  • CPA
