Description:
Assures the procurement and inventory management of high technology and life sciences production and/or non-manufacturing materials, equipment and/or services in accordance with supply chain optimization and management objectives.
The buyer will:
Have 3-6 years procurement purchasing experience, preferably in a Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Operations Buyer role
Possess a solid working knowledge using SAP, and experience using SAP Material Master Data, primarily from a Buyer perspective
Has a solid working knowledge of Excel, with advanced experience using Excel to perform standard functions such as Pivot tables and VLookUp,
Is able to work in a fast-paced environment - capable of multi-tasking
Fast learner with strong communication skills; takes direction well
Solves a broad range of procurement-related problems in varying scope and complexity
Process purchase requisitions, and POs within SAP in a timely manner
Purchase critical/complex items to ensure availability of high-impact products
Demonstrates strong teamwork skills and is able to collaborate and work effectively with others, and to work independently.
Embraces effective decision-making skills; uses good judgment and closes issues
Continually demonstrates reliability and delivery of measured results, which are executed with a sense of urgency.
Has a sensitivity for working with a culturally diverse workforce.
Critical Skills:
Advanced SAP Purchasing Module with skills and proficiency to include MRP, T-Codes, Material Master, and Purchasing Info Records.
Understand SAP "Unit of Measure" conversions, and how to purchase per the appropriate Unit of Measure
Advanced Excel skills which includes proficiency with Excel formulas and functions such as functions listed above.
Education Requirements:
Bachelors, Masters or University Degree in Business, Operations Management or related field of study, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
