job summary:

Our client is seeking a Critical Systems Support Analyst for a 1 year contract opportunity for our client in Folsom, CA.


The Critical Systems Support Analyst is responsible for supporting and improving critical system availability, performance, reliability, and security. Participates in creating and/or implementing effective solutions, strategies, and approaches to ensure service availability and minimize any impacts to the reliability of the power grid.


Follows Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Support practices, including: Incident, Environment, and Problem Management, as well as, Change, Release, Availability, Capacity, Business Continuity, and Service Level Management. Collaborates with senior team members to intercept issues and solve problems. Facilitates, monitors and communicates status updates for solutions, strategies, and maintenance plans to address issues and ensure the necessary operational system qualities.


Responsibilities -



  • Provides Incident and Environment Management technical support for critical systems and team to ensure a high level of systems performance, reliability and security.
  • Acts as the primary contact for patching and system failures.
  • Coordinates IT response and resolution and provides status to management.
  • Performs administrative and installation tasks as needed.
  • Performs Problem Management, including managing and tracking issues and participating in root cause analysis in order to prevent future incidents.
  • Responsible for maintenance and deployment activities, including system compliance.
  • Collaborates with IT constituents on improvement projects to prevent system problems.
  • Prepares various systems technical documentation.
  • Trains support staff, users, and IT constituents, as needed.
  • Provides 24x7 on-call technical support for resolution of system failures, as needed.




REQUIREMENTS



  • Level of Education and Discipline: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent education, training or experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Engineering or related technical field
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Amount of Experience: Equivalent years of education and training, plus two (2) or more years related experience.
  • Type of Experience: Information technology, including computer and software systems engineering, development and support and the software system and integration development lifecycle required.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL required.
  • Experience in customer relationship management is also required.
  • Experience with utility industry operations support systems preferred.
  • Experience and/or training in the following areas is also desirable: application servers, UNIX systems administration and shell programming, related applications.
