You'll conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems and your technical duties include the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

We are seeking a Sr Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the development, deployment and sustainment of our hardware systems. As a Sr Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as lead mechanical design engineer on assigned programs to plan and execute mechanical engineering design activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, work instructions and Customer requirements. In addition, you'll research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems and your technical duties include the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis
  • Familiarity with advanced thermal management techniques
  • Experience with SIGINT systems sensors and components
  • Design experience with high altitude atmospheric conditions
  • Familiarity with Mil/Aero circuit card form factors (VME/VXS/VPX)
  • Familiarity with limited dimension drawing packages and associated inspection methods
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management tools
  • Practical Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Ability to perform 3D modeling in tools such as Solidworks
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (per ASME Y14.5)
  • Experience with electronic packaging for military environment including shock, vibration, temperature extremes etc.
  • Experience providing bids and estimates to complete (ETC)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance


Preferred:
  • Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
  • Experience with ground based Communication and EW systems sensors and component
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes
