Facebook is seeking a Validation Engineer, Power to join our Hardware Design Team. Our servers and data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. To support this mission, a highly efficient and reliable rack power system becomes more and more important to enable the evolvement and adoption of new hardware technology while achieving our most efficient operation. The Power Validation Engineer will be an integral member of the team, owning power hardware validation to ensure high reliability power delivery for our data center operation.

  • Engage with design engineers to understand power product feature and design implementation.
  • Define and execute validation test plan for Power Systems covering various integration level from PSU/BBU/Shelf to rack, to ensure product quality and reliability and to meet product requirements.
  • Own the validation test report to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Drive bug report and work with design engineers on debug process for solutions and fixes.
  • Own the engagement with vendor partners on reviewing vendor validation test plan, test report and bug tracking.
  • Engage with manufacturing quality team on reviewing factory test process.
  • Lead field diagnosis on production issues to support data center operation.
  • Enable and design automated test system for power validation.
  • Own the lab setup and organization.


  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics.
  • Experience in power design and validation.
  • Experience with power test methodologies and have a hands-on approach when testing.
  • Experience with creating utility/tool to automate the test of power system in Linux environment.
  • Experience with power products (power supply and battery) designs, their functions at product level, as well as at board level.
  • Experience in debugging hardware issues at module level and various integrated levels.
  • Experience in ATE.
  • Communication and documentation experience.


  • Experience in HW lab management.
  • Experienced with automated test system design/application for HW validation (Direct ATE design/development experience).
