Facebook is looking for a talented, highly motivated engineer to join the Edge and Network Services team. This team is responsible for deploying and supporting one of the world's largest, most complex, and robust networks. Automation is the key to meeting our demands; you will be responsible for conceiving, developing and launching tools to support network deployment, maintenance, and scale of data center and edge infrastructure. As a member of this team, you will have a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of global networking at Facebook.

• Conceptualize, build, and maintain tools to support network deployment and operations.
• Proactively find gaps that impact multiple teams/orgs, come up with the execution plan and drive the project and influence other teams to reach there.
• Develop automated methods to detect, mitigate and remediate network events.
• Help make the people around you move faster by identifying issues slowing the team down and driving changes to address them.
• Lead/mentor other folks within and outside of the team. Work with other team members from partner teams, understand their challenges, define and deliver automation solutions to address challenges.
• Help with recruiting and onboarding of new members to the team. Help them by mentoring and assuring their quick ramp up within our environment.
• Drive requirements with vendors and third parties to align our internal tooling efforts.

• 10+ years of experience building software for network infrastructure.
• Experience with a programming language (Python, Perl, or C).
• Experience with Linux OS/networking.
• Experience working with SQL databases.
• Experience with network devices (routers, switches, load balancers) and demonstrated experience with network routing protocols.
• Experience with design and implementation of network operation systems.
• Experience debugging issues within custom code.
• Proven experience taking a technology-agnostic approach to engineering.

• Knowledge of Django, PHP, Shell.
• Experience leading and contributing to large cross-functional projects in a global environment.
• Experience working on a global team in a matrixed environment with limited supervision.
