Environment Control is an established Premier Commercial Janitorial Company. We are looking to fill a Warehouse Equipment Technician position to maintain commercial janitorial equipment, handyman work around the office, with opportunity to be on-site at various commercial facilities throughout Fresno and Clovis to deliver customer supplies or to fill-in as a day-time cleaner as needed. Hours are flexible, typical hours are Monday - Friday 10:00am - 3:00pm or 12:00pm – 5:00pm, and are subject to change based on business need.
JOB SUMMARY: Maintain, repair, inventory control of commercial janitorial equipment as needed. If you have experience with small electrical repairs, knowledge of tools and learn quickly this is a plus. Sweep warehouse frequently, breakdown boxes, change lights, keep office outside area free of trash and debris. Maintain cleanliness of company vans and maintenance schedules. Commercial laundry drop off and pick-up as needed. Deliver supplies to customer accounts. Demonstrate proper care and use of company equipment. Be comfortable working around customer employees and executives. Friendly and courteous demeanor to all customers and staff. Back-up day cleaning staff as needed. It does involve up to 6 hours of walking, standing, bending, reaching and lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds. The job includes trash removal, vacuuming, mopping and cleaning of restrooms as needed.
Skills and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will be able to perform the above job summary satisfactory and be able to problem solve, multi-task, and effectively use their time management skills in order to complete tasks efficiently and independently. Must have a customer service attitude, well groomed, personal hygiene and grooming is required. Ability to work around people, while having a can-do attitude and eagerness for continued growth within the company.
Other Skills and Ability: MUST possess a valid and clean Driver's License and vehicle insurance, and have own reliable transportation to arrive at each work on time each day.
Must be able to speak and understand English, bilingual is a plus but not necessary. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be mechanically inclined in regard to equipment.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms walk or climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift up to 60 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds. Ability to climb 6-10 ft ladders. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
