Definition:

The Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, operation and management of customer networks. Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade computer hardware and software on Microsoft and Virtual Servers, Unix, Linux platforms a plus. The Network Administrator is a key contributor to the success of our company through our client's satisfaction. This is achieved by building and maintaining client relationship, keeping current and proactive with the client's technical needs. The Network Administrator acts as the sales engineer, assisting with new client interviews and network assessment, assists with proposals and works closely with the President, Service Manager and sales associates, responsible to prepare and complete all related documentation associated with the client's and our company's PSA's involved.

Key Duties:

1. Project design, implementation and supervisory responsibility of customer networks.

2. Works with President and Service Manager to provide network solutions for existing and new customers

3. Install, configure, manage, and upgrade servers such as Microsoft, Unix and Linux operating systems, and software including dc/ad, WINS, EISA, exchange, back up software

4. Install assemble and configure operating systems, assemble, troubleshoot and repair computer, monitors, and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware; understand cable pulls and requirements as needed for new installations and office reconfiguration

5. Proficient in installation and configuration of RMM

6. Provide end user education as required

7. Prepare and complete all written documentation required in the company PSA.

8. Mentor and develop other technical staff.

9. All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully you must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily. The duties listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required and may modify as the company develops.

You must possess a working ability to install, configure upgrade and repair operating systems (MS required, Unix, Linux a plus) hardware, monitors, routers and software, using standard and complicated financial, business and administrative applications practices. Is highly organized and detail oriented to successfully meet deadlines. Able to troubleshoot thoroughly, solving hardware and software problems, communicate effectively with co-workers and clients, positively representing the company. Must be adaptable and flexible, able to remain calm and confident within stressful situations. Proficient at the enterprise level of managing networks including anti-virus, back-up, MS office, terminal services/Citrix, spam filters, SSL,

Education and Experience:

Technical School Graduate is preferred; College Graduate with work experience accepted with

1-3 years of experience in network administration or as a Network Administrator.

Certifications:

Microsoft Certification A+, Network +, Security +;

Microsoft Certified Professional: Systems Engineer, Administrator, IT Professional Server Administrator

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Must possess the mobility to work in a standard office setting which will require regular sitting, standing, kneeling, squatting, walking and reaching. Must be able to use their hands, fingers, arms and legs to use standard office equipment and various technical equipment. Must be able to lift 25 pounds, and carry 10 pounds. Must be able to talk, speaking clearly and articulately, and to hear and understand the English language in person and over the phone. Must be able to see clearly for driving and be able to read materials either printed or on a computer screen of various sizes and fonts. Must have the ability and license to drive their own vehicle, navigate the city and surrounding areas in which the office is located. Must have the stamina physical, emotional and mental ability to manage stress and maintain attention to detail and accuracy despite interruptions.
