Description: Our client is currently seeking a EDI Developer

Job Description:

Responsible for developing and managing all EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) scripting, coordinate error correction and resubmission, provide EDI reports, and act as a subject matter expert in conjunction with other technical and business employees to improve, expand, and make EDI more efficient. This position is also responsible for managing health plan encounter submissions, ensuring errors reports are available, error resubmission, and measuring submission ratios and plan-specific requirements against actual submissions.

Essential Job Functions:

Design and develop load routines, monitor, and reconcile all inbound and outbound electronic files including but not limited to 837I/P, 835, membership files, 270/271, MMR, MOR, etc.).

Work with trading partners, internal staff, and vendors to resolve any implementation issues.

Coordinate and test all EDI implementations with new EDI partners.

Analyze current implementation in order to make recommendations for improvements.

Conduct job duties and responsibilities according to the organization's business systems development methodology and/or its Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.

Provide technical support to the EDI team and with customer as needed

Troubleshoot EDI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary.

Conduct research and make recommendations on EDI products, services, and standards in support of development efforts.

Uphold and maintain all HIPAA security and privacy regulations as set forth by the federal government. In particular, ensure that all electronic transmissions are encrypted and secure in a manner consistent HIPAA privacy guidelines covered under CFR 45 part 164.

Expert in HIPAA-related EDI issues.

Participate in projects and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Minimum Experience

5+ years EDI experience

Thorough knowledge X12 formats and EDI standards

Strong knowledge of SQL

7+ years in IS with a focus on EDI

Healthcare experience a plus.

Education/Licensure:

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration
