Cultural Homestay International is searching for a TEACHER COORDINATOR willing to work in the Sonora area with short-stay exchange students from Japan this SUMMER.

We are a non-profit organization who seek to hire compassionate individuals who are looking to make a difference in their local communities and schools. Teacher Coordinators are responsible for planning, arranging, and implementing this 3 week program. During the program, Teacher Coordinators' main responsibilities are to teach English in a classroom setting (curriculum provided), oversee on site program, and to take students on tours of the local area as well as arranged activities.

TEACHER COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION: Enroll approx. 15 volunteer host families; job shared with an Assistant Teacher Coordinators Set up an itinerary according to CHI guidelines Participate in training seminars Facilitate an orientation for host families Meet students on arrival and escort students on departure to the airport Host Welcome and Good-bye Parties for students and host families Teach English conversation using CHI's curriculum Take students on short day trips (some full day excursions) Submit all receipts and completed budget form (Budget money is based on size and duration of group and covers all expenses prior and during the homestay.)

This is a PT position for selected individuals 25+ years of age. A teaching credential is not necessary, however, experience working with youth/teens is required. Comprehensive training and support is provided. Pay is determined by the length of the program and the number of matched students/host families. Applicants must have excellent English and communication skills, access to internet, personal/reliable transportation and auto insurance, and pass a background check.
