Private optometric practice is seeking an Optician/ Optometric Assistant for our Grass Valley location. This is a part time position for 2 to 3 days per week. No weekends. Candidate must be a self starter who is able to keep on top of daily tasks without constant supervision and direction. This position is primarily focused on frame and lens sales along with strong phone/front desk and customer service skills. Experience preferred but willing to train an otherwise qualified individual.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Scheduling appointments
Insurance verification
Educating patients on lens and frame options
Frame adjusting, repairs and dispensing
Light cleaning, maintaining a clean organized work environment
Computer work including data entry
Pre-testing patients on various instruments such as an autorefractor and NCT.
Must be comfortable and feel confident working one on one with patients
