RDA/Dental Assistant
Fast paced family practice clinic offering dental services. Dental Assistant works directly with and under general supervision of the Clinics Doctor and Office Manager in providing patient care. Applicant must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills working effectively and harmoniously with a diverse staff and patient population. Dental clinic daily demands require an organized multitasker. Punctuality, accuracy, efficiency & professionalism are a must. The facility is located 15 miles outside downtown Nevada City, near the North San Juan Ridge.
Job Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experienced Dental Assistant (RDA or DA)
Experience:
Review of patients medical history, taking blood pressure & pulse
Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts
Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health
Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies
Assisting dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
Knowledge/Skills:
Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer
Dentrix software
Duties:
Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery
Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol
Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other
helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
