Growing boutique law firm looking to hire a Legal Secretary. We primarily practice family law with some civil litigation. Legal Secretaries are gatekeepers for law firms. They have varying job duties and serve as the first line of communication and service before clients speak with paralegals and attorneys. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to move into the legal field. This is a fast paced, detail oriented, and challenging position. The ideal candidate will be hard working, thorough, and friendly. They must also possess a good sense of humor and can re-prioritize at a moments notice.

Reliable, punctual, and honest
Good sense of urgency, ethics, and a sense of humor
Must be discrete and can respect client confidentiality
Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Experience with law office management programs would be helpful too. We use My Case and Smokeball. Experience with Adobe and Drop Box programs helpful but not required.
Job Duties
An ability to learn legal ethics and apply them in client billing
Return client calls and schedule appointments
Handle all new client intakes
Open and close files. Maintain physical and electronic files. File pleadings, correspondence, and documents.
Process monthly invoices, process payments, and pay accounts payable.
Maintain and order office supplies and equipment
Create photocopies, exhibit,s and trial binders.
Communicate with opposing attorneys, court personnel, court runners, process servers and office venders with professionalism
Assist paralegals and attorneys with additional work as requested
Hours
Monday through Friday – 8am to 4:30pm
