We are seeking a qualified Planer Supervisor to help oversee operations at our division in Sonora, CA.About The Position

Assure safe workplace practices are followed and promote safety awareness through leading by example

Work with Mill Manager, Superintendent, and other Supervisors to optimize productivity

Actively manage and reduce downtime through quick analysis of options and orchestrating solutions

Identify opportunities and take measures to reduce waste and inefficiencies

Monitor and direct QMS program and related processes to ensure consistency

Understand and comply with applicable regulations such as OSHA, wage and hour, and environmental

Supervise, train, direct, and coordinate work of the department's crew

Manage scheduled time off, unexpected absences, and modified duty of crew

Approve timecards for payment, assuring compliance with applicable regulations and Company policy

Participate with interviews and selection of new hires

Recognize and recommend crew commendation, corrective, disciplinary and discharge actions

Evaluate crew and make recommendations for awarding of job openingsQualifications

Proven work experience as a Sourcing Manager or Procurement Manager

Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management and relevant software

Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement

Strong project management and leadership skills

Demonstrated ability to solve problems using analytical skills and to develop alternative solutions

Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the Company

Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships

Ability to handle multiple priorities under demanding circumstances

Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data

Solid judgement with ability to make good decisions

Willingness to travel
