The Job Developer I has responsibility for performing a variety of workforce duties in the development and implementation of employment, retention, and training programs; provides assessment, counseling, placement and follow-up for eligible clients; monitors employment and training programs and contracts; develops business relationships for the purposes of promoting programs and services, job development and referrals; and provides a high level of customer service to business and job seeker clients.

The Job Developer will work have the additional goal of assisting all youth, particularly those out of school, to acquire the necessary skills and work experience to successfully transition into careers and further education and training. Their focus will be placed on serving the group of customers that are sixteen to twenty-four years of age and eligible for the WIOA Youth program.

Job Developer I Responsibilities:

Manages job seeker caseload based on existing numeric goals set by management.

Assesses client and make decisions regarding enrollment. Treat all job seekers with respect regardless of protected class status and / or socio-economic class.

Reviews/approves applicant eligibility for services according to state and federal guidelines.

Identifies barriers to employment and provide vocational, academic and career counseling.

Develops employment plans based upon client skills and aptitudes.

Refers clients to appropriate services and resources.

Responsible for technical duties relative to registration, enrollment and completion of program participants; tracks progress, including expenditures, of enrolled participants.

Develops jobs in private and public sectors. Assists business with their hiring, training and/or job development efforts.

Preferred Education: Four-year college degree with an emphasis in business administration, career planning, vocational counseling, sociology, marketing, human resources, or a related field.

Preferred Experience: A work background in job placement, business administration, career planning, public relations or human services. Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations WIOA and related programs a plus.
