Human Resources Manager

Hemington Landscape Services, Inc. is a multi-trade contractor specializing in commercial landscape installation, concrete construction, and park construction general contracting. Hemington was founded in 1984 and serves the greater Sacramento area. We are headquartered in Cameron Park, CA.

The Human Resource manager is primarily responsible for all personnel related administrative tasks and trainings. This position requires being bilingual (English/Spanish).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Personnel Development:

New hire documentation, orientation, and training.

Coordinate safety programs and trainings with outside vendors, maintain training records.

Aid in recruitment of new employees, extend offers of employment under the direction of senior management.

Educate and create buy in on the employee development/ review process.

Manage company safe driver program and education. Coordinate training.

Enroll company in PG&E Golden Shovel Program and keep good standing.

Chairperson/Organizer of the company Safety Committee.

Assist in training personnel on various field software systems such as PlanGrid, and FIT payroll software.

Stay current on latest employment laws and trends.

Travel to job sites to coordinate trainings and orientation at job sites, when needed.

Track employee anniversaries and birthdays ensure that celebration cards are issued on time to employee.

Develop and maintain company safety training incentives and rewards/recognition program.

Recordkeeping

Create and maintain employee profiles in SAGE software.

Maintain and update company safety program documents as needed.

Maintain pay scale wage rates and position descriptions.

Update and manage electronic job assignment board.

Manage all aspects of “tailgate topics” training schedules and record keeping.

Maintain employee personnel files and payroll records.

Digitize all workers compensation claims and migrate to company server.

Maintain OSHA 300 Logs and annual reporting.

Payroll/Benefits

Understand and communicate company benefit programs to employees.

Assist employees in benefit enrollment and ongoing benefit related issues.

Research proper prevailing wage rates for projects under contract issue wage rates.

Manage prevailing wage processes including DIR reporting and CPR reporting.

Distribute payroll checks on payroll days/aid employees in direct deposit enrollment. .

Coordinate workers comp claims documents and injured worker appointments.

401K Enrollment and Administration coordination.

Log subcontract prevailing wage reports and track reporting from job start to finish.

Aid employees in direct deposit enrollment and communicate to benefits of direct deposit program unenrolled employees.

Other Duties as assigned

Experience/Job Requirements:

Valid driver’s license with favorable DMV record.

Knowledge of basic Microsoft software systems such as Word and Excel.

Ability to communicate effectively with many different people in Spanish.

Strong desire to be a part of close working supportive team.

Willingness to learn and complete tasks as needed that support the team.

Comfortable working with various software systems and basic computer skills.

Construction industry experience not required.

Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Highly organized, self-starter with little direction needed.

Team player with the ability to contribute to a team centric culture.

Limited local travel required when need (within 100 miles of Cameron Park).
