The IT Infrastructure Engineer role supports all aspects of corporate IT infrastructure software & hardware, including servers, storage, LAN, WAN and telecommunications. Recommends, implements, configures and maintains the IT infrastructure at all facilities worldwide. Monitor network and systems for performance, security, and other issues. Work with other IT staff and 3rd party vendors to provide support of key IT infrastructure systems. Responsible for inventory of infrastructure hardware and software, works in collaboration with supervisor to manage IT resources, document the infrastructure architecture and follow IT standards and processes. The IT Infrastructure Engineer reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager.
Responsibilities (Specific tasks, duties, essential functions of the job)

  • Assist with implementation and support all aspects of the IT Infrastructure SW & HW including Windows/Linux servers, VMware, WLAN, Radius, IIS, and similar technologies.
  • Collaborate with vendor partners providing IT infrastructure products & services.
  • Monitor & Document performance of the corporate IT infrastructure to ensure required service levels are met to meet the needs of the business.
  • Support projects to enhance new IT infrastructure capabilities.
  • Support business initiatives requiring use of the IT infrastructure and/or implementation of new components and technologies.
  • Seeks technical assistance and/or escalates problems, when necessary
  • Ensure the IT infrastructure complies with all regulatory laws and industry best practices.
  • Recommend and assist with implementation of industry best practices for information security.
  • Monitor & Assist with IT infrastructure solutions that balance performance, availability, reliability, supportability, security and cost.
  • Coordinate activities with other IT employees and management.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with any other duties as assigned.

  • Proven ability to plan and implement corporate data center, cloud and hybrid cloud large-scale IT systems (Required)
  • Knowledge of enterprise LAN/WAN technologies including IPv4/IPv6, routing/switching, firewalls, MPLS, SD-WAN, VLANs, Fibre Channel, WLAN, RADIUS, IPSEC VPN and similar technologies (Required)
  • Knowledge of enterprise storage technologies including EMC SAN HW & SW, cloud & hybrid backup/restore, disaster recovery and similar technologies (Required)
  • Knowledge of enterprise server technologies including rackmount and blade physical servers, virtual servers, VMware ESXi, Microsoft Windows Server, Linux server and similar technologies (Required)
  • Knowledge of enterprise telecommunications technologies used in on-premise and cloud VoIP systems. (Required)
  • Knowledge of installation and configuration of enterprise IT infrastructure software systems such as Microsoft Windows Server Active Directory, file/print servers, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Internet Information Server, VMware, ADFS and similar technologies (Required)
  • Knowledge of configuration and management of enterprise cloud IT systems such as Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Centrify Single Sign-On, SAML v2.0, Carbonite enterprise backup, Webroot malware protection and similar technologies (Required)
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley General Computer Controls, COBIT, NIST and other industry best practices for information security and risk management (Desired)
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams of IT technical staff and 3rd party vendor partners (Required)
  • Fluent in MS Project, Excel and other MS Office applications (Desired)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (Required)

Qualifications (Experience and Education)
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in network engineering, server administration, data center administration or related experience within a corporate IT department, required.
  • Intermediate knowledge/proficiency in software such as Windows, MS Office, Active Directory, required.
  • Intermediate knowledge/proficiency in troubleshooting OSI layer 1 connectivity, wireless access points and peripherals, preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge/proficiency in installing and configuring client software such as MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, MS Outlook, Visio, Project and web-based applications, preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge/proficiency in installing and configuring Windows & Linux OS and VMWare infrastructure environments, preferred.
  • Microsoft, VMware or similar certifications, preferred.
  • A combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications listed above and that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
