Seeking an Imaging and PACS Administrator in the Goleta, CA area for a contract position.



Provides support and training for Imaging department computer systems. Provides oversight and work direction to Imaging Systems Analyst staff.

Employees will be required to perform any job, with related instruction given by their supervisor, subject to reasonable accommodation.



Provide equipment support for Imaging computer systems.


  • Monitor communication interfaces between the Imaging and Hospital computer systems.

  • Assess and when possible fixes equipment problems.

  • Call in and oversees equipment repairs.

  • Provide 24 hour support for system related issues.



Provide program support for Imaging computer systems.


  • Has a complete knowledge of Imaging computer system programs including user and management functions.

  • Monitor system functions to assure quality and timeliness of data.

  • Maintain all management dictionaries.

  • Add, modify, and monitor user accounts.

  • Prepare management reports.

  • Assure system back-ups are performed.

  • Provide timely and appropriate follow-up to user requests.

  • Communicate problems and system changes to the staff.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary committees and workshops



Provide training


  • Provide training as needed.

  • Function as a resource person for software and hardware related issues.



Manage billing for Imaging Departments


  • Resolve duplicate and incorrect patient accounts.

  • Verifies billing accuracy on a daily basis



Works as a team player.

Provides oversight and work direction for department System Analyst staff.


  • Has thorough knowledge of imaging computer systems.

  • Analyzes projects and workload for Imaging Department systems.

  • Prioritizes workload for the Imaging IT staff.

  • Provides daily work direction to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner.

  • Verifies accuracy and quality of work performed by Imaging IT staff.

  • Plans, coordinates. and implements software and hardware upgrades.

  • Work with other departments throughout to ensure integration of Imaging systems.

  • Maintains department equipment records.

  • Reviews maintenance and support contracts.

  • Coordinates and/or leads project meetings.

  • Develops and maintains disaster recovery plan for Imaging systems.

  • Acts as the primary computer systems representative for the Imaging departments.

  • Develops training programs as needed.



Schedules

With variations due to hospital site and department, this position may require census-driven scheduling flexibility (additional/fewer shifts), holiday coverage, floating, being placed on-call, weekend coverage, and shift rotations.

Level of Education

Minimum: Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Telecommunications



Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

Minimum: Preferred: ITIL Foundation certification, Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) or Certified PACS System Analyst (CPSA), Certified PACS Interface Analyst (CPIA)



Technical Requirements

Required:


  • Knowledge of information systems techniques and procedures.

  • Knowledge of computer networks.

  • Proficiency in word processors and spreadsheets.


Preferred: Working knowledge of EMR, PACS systems, ECG applications, EEG applications



Years of Related Work Experience

Minimum: Five years of clinical system implementation and support

Preferred: Six years of dedicated imaging application and technical support
