Assembly Technicians perform a variety of tasks in support of designing new systems, hands on building, and testing.Assembly Technicians work in a laboratory environment using mechanical skills including soldering, hand tools to tighten fasteners, and microscopes to see small components and assemblies.Process Engineers or other experienced personnel will help train new employees in key processes and techniques.The successful candidate will follow written work instructions, work well with team mates, and support personnel from multiple organizations.The exact work shift is negotiable but training will occur during the first shift for several months or until after all security clearances and initial training has been completed (up to a year). This is a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) position. Must be able to work overtime occasionally during the week or on weekends as required to support customer demands.Due to the classified and export sensitive nature of the processes, materials and technical data, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start dateRequired Skills: 1-2 years post high school work experience in mechanical assembly and soldering or similar.
Technicians must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Possess the ability to utilize a microscope and hand-held tools like soldering iron, tweezers, screw drivers, and torque wrenches.
Ability to comfortably lift up to 20 lbs and manipulate items while sitting or standing. Sitting, standing, lifting, walking, and pushing carts is required.
Ability to handle repetitive motions that involve tighten screws and other tasks associated with assembly work.
The ability to use a computer to access work instructions, time keeping, perform data entry and complete on-line training is required.
Comfort in wearing company provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Raytheon supplied PPE includes safety glasses, smock and gloves.
Must be a U.S. Citizen as the position will require the ability to attain DoD Secret Clearance within 1 year of employment start date.

Experience working in an engineering environment, reading and building to engineering prints for mechanical assembly and schematic diagrams for wiring assemblies.
Understanding of Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) and FOD reduction/prevention methods.
Experience handling electro static discharge (ESD) sensitive items.
Previous training and or certifications in soldering, FOD, and ESD protection.
Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) assemblies. Knowledge and experience with aircraft or military quality requirements.
Required Education:A High School diploma or GED is required for this position.
