Email a Friend Save SaveApply NowPosition Description:SUMMARY:Plans and develops test procedures in support of development programs. Builds test stands and conducts acceptance, verification and qualification testing of PDT products and equipment both on-site and at off-site test houses. During peak periods, extended working hours and time pressure are common. Travel to off-site test houses is required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following: Works closely with Project Engineers to develop and write test procedures. Develops and documents hydraulic and electrical test schematics used to identify necessary test equipment and instrumentation. Works with PDT’s and customer’s engineers to develop test procedures. Attends frequent meetings with customers to ensure test plans meet customer expectations. Identifies and procures required test equipment and instrumentation. Installs and builds test stands in accordance with test schematics and procedures. Conducts tests of PDT equipment and products in accordance with test procedures. Collects data and processes data and test results into presentation format. Interprets and analyzes data to verify performance of test articles and troubleshoots test installations and equipment. Interprets test results and applies engineering principles to address concerns with equipment and test instrumentation. Writes test reports for submittal to customer. Advances PDT’s cross-training goals by training and guiding other technicians in the areas of test stand set-up. Provides feedback regarding the successes and challenges of operating and testing products. Participates in design reviews to help ensure new products can be successfully tested at acceptance and qualification levels. Interfaces with customer representatives to support source inspection and witnessing as required. Maintains product and company reputation by promoting compliance with government and customer regulations. Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service. Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.Position Requirements:POSITION CRITERIA:Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering and a minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, and test of industrial or aerospace products.OR10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, assembly, and test of industrial or aerospace products.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Fluency in written and spoken English.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Familiarity with pumps, motors, electromechanical devices, fluid devices, such as valves, accumulators, and heat exchangers is highly desirable. Familiarity with test instrumentation such as pressure transducers, flow meters, thermocouples, RTD’s, multi-meters, etc. is highly desirable. Familiarity with electro-dynamic shakers, accelerometers, oscilloscopes, and other environmental test lab equipment is desired. Familiarity with Solidworks is desired. Familiarity with MS Office Word, Excel. Outlook, Power-point, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat Familiarity with Data Acquisition (DAQ) Systems such as LabView or Keysight Benchvue. Solder training per J-STD-01 preferred. Experience with soldering through hole and surface mount components desired. Experience within a highly technical production environment is highly desirable. Able to effectively communicate, written and orally, with employees and technical professionals/consultants. Adept in the use of computers, software applications and other technology tools used for the purpose of information gathering, product testing, computation, communication, and product documentation. Ability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
