JOB TITLE: Program Specialist (Non-Exempt Position)

SUPERVISOR: Executive Director

Background and Purpose

The Program Specialist supports the capacity development of Kings United Way, individually and within a team, to optimize the effectiveness of our work in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), 211 Kings County, and local capacity building efforts for nonprofit affiliates within Kings County.

Qualifications

Must have a combination of education and experience in human service program planning and evaluation. Incumbent shall have experience using computer database programs and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Manage multiple tasks at any given time and be sensitive to the cultural, economic, and language needs of the community.

Must be able to establish priorities, meet deadlines, adapt to a changing work environment, have a high degree of initiative, and be self-directed.

Experience with MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook are essential. Experience using business analytic tools highly desirable.

Transportation

Must possess reliable, insured transportation with sufficient auto insurance coverage as required by law. Must continuously possess a valid, California drivers license throughout employment and be able to use personal vehicle in the course of performing routine job duties.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand continuously for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist with data analytics. Equip Kings United Way (KUW) leadership and partner organizations with data

and analytics from Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) & 211 to inform their planning and resource allocation process.

2. Provide data analysis for homeless programs and report program outcomes to collaborative partners.

3. Assist in the implementation of agency branding and communication plan.

4. Provide support to HMIS on the implementation of the data visualization dashboard.

5. Assist with public education, marketing, outreach, and social media strategies to educate Kings County residents on programs within Kings United Way.

6. Have knowledge of 211 call center, website, mobile app, SMS Text/Live Chat, and technology associated with 211 to provide support, when needed.

7. Assist with maintenance of office records.

8. Responsible for creating and leveraging resources for broad community impact.

9. Assist in the coordination of special events.

10. Manage software for resource development work.

11. Updates to website on a quarterly basis.

12. Cultivate relationships with key community stakeholders to advance the capacity of Kings United Way toward achieving its mission. Maintain consistent communication year-round.

13. Identify top 8 employers for workplace campaign and set up presentations annually.

14. Digitalize the KUW pledge form.

15. Prepare thank you notes and acknowledge donors and sponsors on KUW website.

16. Embed video onto KUW website.

17. Manage online giving platform.

18. Manage volunteer database, Get Connected, at the conclusion of AmeriCorps placement.

19. Participate in social media strategies for branding and communications efforts.

20. Responsible for providing safety training at all staff meetings.

21. Active involvement in strategic thinking regarding KUW services and prospecting for future opportunities while also attending to the details related to the facilitation and evaluation of current priorities.

22. Answer telephone and route calls, when appropriate.

23. Attend all meetings, training, seminars, and workshops-as required.

24. Maintain the integrity of confidential information.

25. Perform all duties in a safe manner so as to avoid injury to self or others.

26. Other duties as assigned.
