General Function:

The Grants and Contracts Analyst (GCA) provides administrative and financial analysis, procurement review and analysis, and grants analysis and management. The GCA reports to the Senior Director of Grants and Contracts, providing additional support to the Subgrants Manager as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As part of fundraising process, assists in the development of and reviews and edits grant subgrant proposals/applications.

Prepares proposal budget analysis and reviews proposal budgets for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal financial requirements and funder compliance requirements.

Communicates with funders regarding contract terms and conditions, amendments, extensions, financial statements, allowable costs and line-item adjustments.

Helps process incoming grants: analyzes and summarizes requirements, provides contract set-up data to accounting, and assures proper distribution of official correspondence to all departments.

Writes, revises and adapts contracts awarded to other organizations and companies.

In conjunction with Accounting Department, provides analysis and advice on financial management of grants.

In conjunction with other Grants and Contract staff, provides administrative and accounting support, as needed.

Reviews and approves requests for procurements of goods and services, as allowed by Internews approvals thresholds, policies, and funder restrictions.

Understanding of and demonstrated commitment to upholding Internews Core Values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in and aptitude for financial analysis, including grant budgeting.

Experience in proposal, grant, and contract writing and editing.

Experience in federal grants management and familiarity with U.S. government grant regulations - helpful.

Strong computer skills particularly with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word, as well as familiarity working in a database environment.

Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Experience in procurement of goods and services, including development and evaluation of RFPs/RFQs “ helpful.

Ability to meet tight deadlines.

Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.

University degree required.
