Come join our team of professionals! We are a cannabis company located in Eureka, California and are looking for the right person to join our team as a Senior Accountant. The right person will have extraordinary attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to keep up with the rapid business growth we have been experiencing as a company. We are seeking someone with a high degree of personal accountability and independence whose desire is to help support and grow the business through implementation and ingenuity of financial controls. We are particularly interested in someone able to help us forecast, plan, and budget accordingly through advanced analytics; you must possess a strong desire to think outside the box while also mitigating risks. Be prepared and able to present proposals to our executive team and CEO.

This position performs various accounting and financial duties with a focus on General Ledger entries and reconciliations, fixed asset tracking, assisting with financial statement preparation, reviewing Accounts Payable postings for accuracy, accounting operations, A/R reconciliation, month-, quarterly- and year-end close reporting, revenue recognition, budgeting and financial analysis, along with State/Federal tax remittance. Please be prepared to assist in varied and multiple special projects as needed! Questions regarding the position are welcome.

Core duties include, but are not limited to:

-Manage finance and accounting operations

-Manage all accounting operations including: Billing, A/R, A/P, Payroll and GL

-Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and report

variances

-Ability to manage and comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax

filings

-Possess creative thinking, flexibility, and superb problem solving skills that allow you to pivot and change direction as the cannabis industry does

-Manage deadlines in a professional manner and with timeliness; must possess the ability and initiative to work independently on projects

-Manage the daily, monthly and long-term cash position of the organization

-Execute month-end and year-end close process

- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

- Implement and execute financial policies and procedures within all departments of the business and with external parties (such as vendors and customers) concerning account maintenance, billing and other business functions

-Analyze the credit and financing resources available for our company

-Establish department standards, guidelines, and objectives; maintain other administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas.

-Collect and analyze financial data and prepare monthly financial statements and reports.

-Perform additional analysis for explanatory texts required for financial statements and reports.

- Prepare complex financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; complete individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines.

-Additional finance and accounting duties as necessary.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting, Finance or related field; Masters degree in accounting field preferred

- Interested, motivated, and excited to work in the cannabis industry

- CPA licensed individual preferred with at least three (3) years Financial, Business and Tax experience

- Experience preparing financial, analytical reports

- Solid understanding of general accounting concepts and knowledge of GAAP

- Ability to manage priorities and workflow in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment

- Ability to communicate in a clear, friendly, professional and proactive manner

- Strong computer skills including Excel, Quickbooks, and variable accounting software; be prepared to adapt to multiple software platforms as needed

- Experience implementing varied financial controls preferred

- Absolute integrity and honesty in financial reporting

- Experience being a part of a team and the ability to work toward a common goal of success within a unique industry and set of personnel; exceptional people skills are required

- Willing to undergo a background check
