As chief of materials management you will:
Work closely with engineering and product development teams to plan for new products
Collaborate with senior leadership, marketing, and sales staff to forecast production needs
Team up with shop leadership to plan manufacturing
Create and maintain Bills of Materials for products
Build and maintain relationships with material suppliers and subcontractors
Ensure that the right materials are on hand to meet demands
Maintain inventories of materials, Work in Process, and Finished Goods.
Manage shipping, environmental compliance, and international permits
Maintain and communicate accurate and up to date records
Contribute to process analysis, reporting, and improvement initiatives
Learn from senior staff and mentor up and coming associates
Your most important qualifications include leveraging your talents to take on new objectives while thriving in a fast paced and diverse team environment. Your most valuable foundational skills include:
Analytical thinking with problem solving aptitude
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
Experience learning new software systems
Effective communication and leadership skills
Hands on experience with forecasting and budgeting
Experience negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
Productive organizational and time management skills
The ideal candidate may also have these types of additional qualifications:
Previous experience with planning and materials management
BSc/BA in logistics or similar relevant field
