Job Overview
To provide customer service to all guests arriving at Burlwood Gallery including handling cash/credit transactions, collecting shipping information, restocking merchandise, along with upselling and answering questions about the different pieces that are available for purchase. You will be part of our sales team and interacting with all guests is key. Most of our customers are from out of town so local knowledge is also a must.
Responsibilities and Duties
Greeting Customers upon arrival, responding to questions, improving engagement with merchandise and providing outstanding customer service
Operating cash registers, managing financial transactions and balancing drawers
Responsible for maintaining an accurate cash drawer balance with accurate cash drops at the end of each shift
Cross-selling products to increase purchase amounts
Answer phone calls and provide accurate information about Burlwood Gallery and the surrounding area
Collect and maintain correct customer information records including shipping information and contact information
Ability to perform opening and closing duties
Maintain cleanliness of gallery including sweeping, dusting and light maintenance of restroom
Must be able to complete monthly inventory reports
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to read, write and perform basic math
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
At least 1 year of cash/credit handling experience
At least 1 year of retail sales experience
We are looking for someone who is friendly, upbeat, responsible, trustworthy and “hungry” to work and grow within our company
Must have reliable transportation to and from Burlwood Gallery
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
This is our second year open and right now we are looking for someone who has flexible hours and is willing to grow with us. Right now this is a seasonal job but the with the right candidate this has potential for almost year round employment.
