The Holiday Inn Express and Suites in McKinleyville is seeking a part-time Front Desk (Guest Service) Agent. Our candidate will be responsible for ensuring complete guest satisfaction from the moment the guest arrives until their departure. This position welcomes guests at check in, handles check outs, provides concierge services, answers phones and takes reservations. The candidate should be capable of providing effective communication to guests as well as fellow team members. Applicants must be willing to deliver superior customer service and an ability to multi task. A pleasant personality and the skill to deal with a wide variety of people is essential. Applicants must also have a clean and valid drivers license as you also drive the hotel shuttle to and from the Airport. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. This is a part-time position, shifts 7am - 3:30pm, or 3p - 11:30p It would be helpful if applicant would be available to learn work the night audit shift, 11pm - 7am, for relief for vacation and sick time.

JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Must be pleasant, courteous, professional, and respectful of guests at all times.

a. Make eye contact with every guest.

b. Greet every guest with a smile.

c. Sincerely welcome guests.

d. Ask guest how their stay was.

e. Uses name when answering the phone.

f. Handle all concierge functions related to the hotel.

2. Handles all guest accounts.

a. Checks in and out all guest accounts, explaining any questionable postings.

b. Handles any payment accepted by the hotel.

c. Posts all hotel charges.

d. Responsible and accountable for contents and accuracy of own cash drawer.

e. Completes a thorough cashier audit at end of shift.

3. Complies with all Company and Department safety rules and procedures.

a. Follows procedures outlined in the emergency binder.

b. Follows proper procedures to ensure hotel will not have any liabilities.

c. Handles all safety deposit box transactions.

d. When necessary is responsible for handling and storage of guests luggage.

4. Drives hotel shuttle to and from Airport to take guests and pick them up.

The Front Desk Agent must be flexible to work AM or PM shifts.
