ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Custodian will be responsible for any combination of cleaning duties on the gym floor, locker rooms, offices and maintain the facility with emphasis on cleanliness.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions
⢠Cleans walls, furniture, equipment, windows and mirrors according to club procedures.
⢠Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums showers, toilets, countertops, hallways, stairs, rooms and office space.
⢠Empties clubsâ trash and garbage containers.
⢠Completes daily and weekly custodial checklists as assigned and scheduled.
⢠Performs special cleaning projects as assigned.
⢠Must successfully complete quarterly safety training.
Other Functions
⢠Monitor inventory of supplies and report needs to Supervisor/Manager.
⢠Use all janitorial supplies in accordance to product labels and club manuals.
⢠Report all facility maintenance issues to Supervisor/Manager.
⢠Attend staff meetings and trainings, as required.
⢠Maintain professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
⢠Work together as a team with all departments.
⢠Greet members producing a welcoming atmosphere, smile!
Qualifications and Education Requirements
â At least three (3) months experience in custodial or janitorial services and three (3) months customer service
experience desired; experience in hospitality or health clubs is a plus.
â English language skills to communicate with members and staff.
â High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
â Knowledge of using cleaning supplies.
â CPR/AED Certification Required within 30 days of hire.
â Proof of citizenship or legal status.
Physical and Working Conditions
â Ability to stand for several hours in a same shift, physical agility, ability to lift and maneuver 45 lbs.
â Fitness club environment.
â Must follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standards.
