Under the general direction of the Director of Public Works, to supervise and perform a variety of administrative, operational, control, and maintenance functions in the City's water and wastewater treatment and pumping systems (does not include wastewater collection, water distribution, or water storage systems); to supervise and perform laboratory testing and sample collection; to supervise and perform a variety of work at all levels in the maintenance, repair, and construction of water and wastewater treatment and pumping systems; to provide oversight and implementation of regulatory compliance issues; to supervise the work of others, and to do related work as required.
Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED required. Possession of Grade III Wastewater Operator certificate (or higher) from SWRCB is desired, Grade II Water Treatment Operator certificate (or higher) from SWRCB is required at time of hire. Any combination of training and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
