FLOWER CO. is adding a House Procurement Manager to help us grow our house brand and our company. We’re looking for an experienced operations manager with significant industry expertise and a passion for building the best value and quality cannabis products on the market through our house brand.
As the House Procurement Manager, you will work directly with our Head of Fulfilment Operations to increase our current house brand product margins, expand the FLOWER CO. house brand customer base, and continue to grow our house offerings.
The ideal Manager is someone who is a builder- comfortable moving fast, adapting to new information, prioritizing effectively; Someone who takes ownership, but isn’t possessive; Someone experienced with procurement and operations in a fast-growing environment. You are an experienced cannabis industry veteran who is a hard-working self-starter who can excel in high-pressure situations. You are detailed-oriented and have great communication skills who knows when to ask for help, when to reprioritize, and when to re-budget.
This is a remote role that can be located in Arcata, Los Angeles, Sacramento, or San Francisco
What you’ll do
Hit target margin goals for new products and margin improvement goals for re-stocking of existing products
Develop ideas and execute on house product tests to drive greater penetration of house product on the menu
Create procurement and restocking processes to prevent stock-outs of key house brand SKUs
Manage inventory levels of product, hardware, and packaging
Forecast growth of SKUs to ensure we have proper stock to accommodate growth
Develop and maintain relationships with white label manufacturers
Create and execute on plans to bring more processing / production in house
Work with Head of Fulfilment to develop margin targets and budgets
Who you are
5+ years’ of work experience in Operations, Project Management, or Production Management
4+ years’ of experience IN THE CANNABIS INDUSTRY
Knowledgeable about basic cannabis industry structure and value chain
Understanding of industry commodity pricing dynamics and seasonal cycles
Basic understanding of cultivation (Indoor, outdoor, green house, Soil to oil)
Passionate about cannabis products and have an ability to gauge quality of different grades of flower and extracts
Experience viewing and purchasing large lots of flower or other cannabis commodities
Experienced with mitigating testing/product quality risks during commodity purchasing
Knowledgeable of high-level extraction methodologies and key operational metrics (inputs, outputs, expected yields, timelines)
Ability to negotiate key business points and translate them into instructions for lawyers to document
Prior experience bringing a manufactured cannabis product and/or accessories to market
Ability to manage timelines with multiple vendors
Existing relationships with California vendors preferred
Creative problem-solver who finds ways to reduce risks of delays and bring products to market swiftly
Ability to develop and work with a budget
Knowledgeable about California Cannabis Compliance Regulations including:
Packaging compliance
Transportation and logistics
METRC
Ability to communicate and get along with a wide range of people
Comfortable with change and working in a fast-paced environment
Desire to constantly learn
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
