Our busy Family Practice is hiring for a Medical Scribe and Medical Assistant.

Job Title: Medical Scribe

Job Overview: Works to facilitate patient flow and ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Certification/licensure: Not required.

Experience: Medical field experience recommended but not required.

Duties include but not limited to:

Accompany provider into the examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician's encounter with the patient and others present.

List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions as dictated by the provider.

Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.

Document any procedures performed by the provider.

Keep the files (laboratory orders, radiology orders, pain contracts, etc.) in the rooms full and retrieve them if necessary.

Medical terminology.

Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications.

Legible handwriting and ability to accurately record information.

Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.

Requirements:

Must be computer savvy

This is a hands-on job, you will be interacting, talking with, and touching patients (taking blood pressure/ vitals, assisting w/ procedures, etc.)

Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.

Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.

Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, confidentiality, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance, HIPAA compliant.

Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers.

Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times.

Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone.

Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds unassisted. Requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements (specifically keyboarding and writing), standing, and sitting, with some lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout a regular work day.

Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Back Office Supervisor, Physicians, and Nurse Practioners, provide optimal direct care to patients in accordance with FFMG standards.

Qualifications:

Prefer 1+ year(s) experience in a medical office, but will train.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant training or equivalent. Medical Terminology. Injection Certificate. Venipuncture certificate (optional). BLS/CPR certificate

Skills:

Give injections, do EKGs, take vital signs, drawing blood, rooming patients, return phone calls, set-up for procedures and clean up, chart, Clean and stock rooms. Must be a team player. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Preparing charts for the following day. Other back office duties designated by MA Supervisor. Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds unassisted. Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
