POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist will oversee the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes.

Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies.

Gather and analyze date with useful HR metrics, like time to hire, employee and applicant demographics, and employee turnover rates.

Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to the HR Director.

Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

Maintains compliance with federal employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.

Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel.

Conducts analytical studies; prepares or reviews reports of findings, alternatives and recommendations; prepares a variety of written materials including correspondence.

Prepares various HR-related correspondence and reports.

Provides excellent customer service to employees.

Responses to inquiries from staff via phone and/or email.

Provides assistance on payroll-related projects.

Provides support to other departmental functions when needed.

Other duties may be assigned.

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department. May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required.

At least one (1) year of relevant experience in Human Resources required.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience (Equivalent = two (2) year’s direct related experience to one (1) year of education).

PHR or SPHR preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Shall possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance.

Shall obtain Tribal Human Resources Professional Certification (THRP) within one (1) year of hire.
