We are looking for a full time Office Technician

Work hours are M-F 8am - 5pm

This is a benefited State position in the Fortuna office.

If you have not worked for the State of California before that's ok, you can still meet the minimum requirements with a combination of job experience and schooling.

Under the direction of the Administrative Officer (AO), the Office Technician performs the following duties clerical and timekeeping duties:

Responsible for Civil Service Staff personnel matters and files.

Calculates leave balances;

Initiates and processes paperwork for all staff: new-hires, separations, transfers, promotions and health benefits enrollment;

Provides on-going training on benefits and open enrollment periods;

FMLA Coordinator for all staff for all 3 programs (Fortuna, Backcountry, WSP);

Responsible for all aspects of Workers Compensation: processing claims, OSHA reporting, tracking, informing other staff as needed;

Maintains personnel, confidential, and administrative files and reference materials;

Acts as training coordinator;

Maintains all training and continuing education related certificates;

Responsible for all Civil Service Staff Payroll.

Assists AO with facility maintenance and safety.

Tracking repairs, perform weekly safety inspections, maintains spreadsheets, updates IIPP binders;

Attends safety meetings and takes minutes;

Responsible for all aspects of file and property retention: request gold tags, reconciles inventory with headquarters, surveys equipment.

Manage Voyager accounts

Creates and review monthly Voyager reports;

Prepares DMV pull-notices;

Requests and cancels Voyager PIN numbers, validates blue-card drivers.

Provides backup assistance to the Office Assistant as necessary.

Receptionist duties, including receiving and screening telephones calls, directing calls to the appropriate personnel, greeting the public, faxing, copying, filing;

Completes emergency billing and time-keeping;

Maintain policy manuals;

Must be available to respond to emergencies.

Care, Maintenance and Security of State Equipment and Property.

Inspect office equipment to ensure safe operation, recommend repairs and maintenance;

Operate state equipment, perform minor repairs and maintenance.
