LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED, HARD WORKING PLANT ENTHUSIAST!
Landscape company of over 20 years of local service is looking for a hardworking, self-directed, detail oriented individual who enjoys working outdoors year round, who loves plants and understands the value of good service.
This is a part time, year round position. Ideally the applicant will have 2-3 days from Mon-Fri available to work. Prior experience dictates beginning wage and number of hours.
You MUST have at least three years experience working with plants in a garden setting. Experience should include, but is not limited to the following: pruning, shearing, planting, digging, raking, dividing, fertilization and weeding. Experience with drip irrigation systems is a plus.
Employees are required to know plant names, common and latin, or learn plant names on their own time. It's helpful to keep a notepad handy to jot down names or other notes throughout the day as your are learning.
Unless you have a great deal of experience, training takes approximately one year, therefore, we are looking for individuals who are serious about working with plants and can work with us for a minimum of two years, preferably more.
You will be reimbursed for miles driven between jobs or to pick up/drop off materials.
Applicant must:
Be passionate about plants and gardening.
Be eager to work in the wet and cold.
Have good organizational skills.
Be tidy and keep tools in good condition.
Have a valid California D.L. and a clean driving record.
Have a smart phone in order to communicate from the job site with photos and text.
Have a pickup truck with an open bed to haul green waste and materials.
Be able to easily lift 50lbs and in physical condition to work hard all day.
