In search of crew for the 2019 Salmon season in Kodiak, Alaska.
Interested in working hard and being outside? We are looking for an enthusiastic individual(s) to work at our Salmon setnet site in Kodiak, Alaska.
Expect long hours and hard work, and be pleasantly surprised by how rewarding it is, and the bounty of activities when we have free time.
Ideal candidates would have a desire to get up early, stay up late, work hard, learn new skills and have a good attitude in trying conditions. Must be reasonably physically fit. A huge plus if you have knowledge of knots, boats, being on the water, willingness to cook and help with daily tasks.
We are remote, but have bay-wide social gatherings with an excellent group of people. There are abundant hiking and exploring opportunities, kayaking, rowing, beach combing, lots of beautiful, rugged coastline to explore, gardening. Tons of wildlife viewing everyday including whales, sea lions, sea otters, bear, birds, deer Not to mention youll get to eat fresh fish all summer long!
The job starts in the end of May and can last until mid September at the latest. We can be somewhat flexible on start and end dates for students etc.
