Disclaimer: First of all, I need to say that American culture has a broad cross section that has hang-ups regarding sexuality and nudity. I have no desire to trigger anyone with this disposition. There are many more cultures in this world that have no ‘emotional charge’ in connection with the natural human form and its means of reproduction. Due to this, they tend to be far less neurotic (living in one’s head) and upset by nudity and sex. It is to those progressives I am wishing to connect with. Body confidence regardless of type and gender. No anxiety around being in a natural state for photographs or sitting still.
This work BEGINS IN 2022. Will be looking from now until March of 2022 when I will start producing material. I made my return to the arts in 2019 after several years absence with an idea for “regional biographic” themes done in formalism. (Art for art sake) to promote alongside the “visual cartography’ series, which attempts to teach. These are made into posters and prints for sale internationally. Pay is 100 per clothed session and to sit for life drawing. if a prolonged ‘themed’ shoot or nude, pay is more. Pay is negotiable since the themes and requirements vary. Some involve local travel. End goal is that everyone is happy with a fun experience in their lives. I have zero intentions of creating any discomfort or negative memories. Life has enough challenges without creating more.
Again, this is for 2022. I am finishing delayed production on the work gathered in 2019. Several factors contributed to the delay, Covid and a family emergency among them.
What I am looking for: Unique and provocative imagery that is based upon an individuals expression, character and activities. Then produced in the appropriate medium. I am tending toward monochrome base color with B&W charcoal as a standard, but not limited to this. Gender and sexuality is not an issue but rather part of the composition if relevant to the chosen theme. Compositions are built around the individual and their personal likes, traits and endeavors focusing on a one or a few elements at a time. First sessions can be clothed if useful. Most will likely involve partial nudity as an end result. Point being, its based on the subject and requires comfort, if not confidence with self and expression. Will need to interview some, to find the theme we are looking for in you. I can send examples.
There is one specific series I am producing that is looking for an African American Female to be “Columbia” our Nations Goddess. I intend to also do a Latina and Asian version. Different compositions from the original work, image can be found lowandeart.net and or lowandeart page on facebook. . (watermarked and copyright) The story of Columbia is told along with the work. This is crossing over into visual cartography, but the genre is still neo-classical formalism with an early 20th century deco aesthetic. I will send pics of the current work that is not yet shown online.
Id like anyone who responds to know that I usually get a huge response, even in this rural county. If I do not respond it is in no way indicative of any value judgement. It is due to numbers and the energy it takes to focus on meeting with and creating a theme with a dedicated subject. You dont have to be edgy or extreme in appearance, nor do you have to be an extrovert or pro. I am looking for the unique qualities that make us human, a spirit having a human experience. I will have pre determined poses to direct, but open enough to ‘happy accidents’ that can out do a proposed theme and look. On other words, plenty of structure with flexibility. You only need to be genuine. Be yourself. Allow me to pose or direct you.
I like to meet in a neutral place after exchanging emails, pics and ideas. I will pay you for that time and effort. In the time it will take to field subjects and then create a session to produce it will likely be March of next year. But not in stone. Can use the winter light and weather if that is appropriate. But it is most likely a few months away. I like to use a subject for more than one session if possible, over varied mediums.
