The Boys & Girls Club is looking for two(2) energetic, fun and caring individuals to help run program, supervise members, while providing positive and supportive guidance. They will need to be flexible and able to work Monday-Friday from 11am-6pm. The job description is below:

Program Assistant

General Description: Under supervision of the Unit Director, the Program Assistant is responsible to provide planning, coordination and implementation of activities and programs. A variety of programs are provided to include: Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, The Arts, Sports, Fitness and Recreation.

Responsibilities

On-Site supervision of the members.

Maintain positive outlook and attitude with children, and provide constructive feedback on their efforts and progress.

Plan and implement interesting activities using Boys &Girls Club core program areas as a guide.

Adhere to the Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods policies & procedures.

Assist children in building conflict resolution skills and learning to accept responsibility for their actions.

Maintain positive discipline and safety procedures at all times.

Maintain respectful communication with members, parents, school personnel, and other staff.

Help maintain a clean facilitymaking sure children clean up after activities.

Never leave a mess after an activity!

Additional duties as assigned by Unit Director.

Requirements:

Ability to listen, to demonstrate patience, and create a positive atmosphere with children.

Ability to organize group play activities.

Knowledge of child development issues.

Knowledge of conflict resolution and mediation skills.

Knowledge of appropriate-age games, recreation, and fine arts.

The ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.

Must be 21 years of age

Experience / Education required:

Completion of high school education.

Wage / Benefits:

This position will start at 13.25 per hour for a maximum of 35 hours a week during the summer session and 24 during the academic school year. The position requires availability during after-school hours (2:30pm-7:00pm) Monday through Friday.
