CASE SUPERVISOR Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Case Supervisor provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers ensuring that children involved with the CASA program receive sound advocacy and early permanency planning. The Case Supervisor is responsible for volunteer supervision and coordination of cases

I. CASE SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Supervise dependency caseload. Responsible for: updating files, reviewing court reports, assisting volunteers with court report writing, developing case plans with volunteers, providing case management and first line supervision of volunteers.

B. Contact volunteers regularly to review the status of cases and annually for evaluation of their performance.

C. Maintain schedule of court hearings for CASA volunteers and other information to facilitate management of cases.

D. Attend dependency, courtroom proceedings, meditations, treatment team meetings, school based meetings as calendared, and keep records [court summary and case information] when volunteers cant attend or need your support.

E. Provide liaison between program and professional community, assisting communication between agencies and volunteers.

F. Schedule a pre-court meeting with the Program Manager 30 days before all court hearings and a post hearing meeting within 48 hours.

G. Recording of information updates in the database system weekly at a minimum.

H. Assist with organization of events for current and prospective CASAs.

I. Assist in the scheduling of In Service classes for advocates, notify the advocates on your caseload, and enter attendance in CASA Tracker.

J. Attend various trainings, conferences and seminars, as appropriate to enhance professional growth and development as requested or approved by Program Manager.

K. Must be flexible with hours. Available days and some evenings and weekends.

II. COURT RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Review all social services reports and court documents received [notices, orders, etc.].

B. Maintain court summaries of Juvenile Court proceedings on the Green Sheet and relay information to your advocate.

III. VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION / SUPPORT

A. Provide ongoing support services for volunteers using the Volunteer retention and recognition plan.

SUPERVISION and RATE OF PAY

Case Supervisors report directly to the CASA of Humboldt Program Manager. The compensation rate is $17/hr. This is a full-time benefited position and will remain open until filled.
