CASE SUPERVISOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Case Supervisor provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers ensuring that children involved with the CASA program receive sound advocacy and early permanency planning. The Case Supervisor is responsible for volunteer supervision and coordination of cases.

I. CASE SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise dependency caseload. Responsible for: updating files, reviewing court reports, assisting volunteers with court report writing, developing case plans with volunteers, providing case management and first line supervision of volunteers.

Contact volunteers regularly to review the status of cases and annually for evaluation of their performance.

Maintain schedule of court hearings for CASA volunteers and other information to facilitate management of cases.

Attend dependency, courtroom proceedings, meditations, treatment team meetings, school based meetings as calendared, and keep records [court summary and case information] when volunteers can’t attend or need your support.

Provide liaison between program and professional community, assisting communication between agencies and volunteers.

Schedule a pre-court meeting with the Executive Director 30 days before all court hearings and a post hearing meeting within 48 hours.

Recording of information updates in the database system as information is acquired (weekly at a minimum).

Utilization of case closing procedures.

Assist with organization of events for current and prospective CASAs.

Assist in the scheduling of In Service classes for advocates, notify the advocates on your caseload, and enter attendance in Optima database.

Attend various trainings, conferences and seminars, as appropriate to enhance professional growth and development as requested or approved by Executive Director.

Represent agency at community meetings and trainings as approved by Executive Director.

Participate in staff meetings, Case Supervisor meetings and other meetings as requested by Executive Director.

Must be flexible with hours. Available days and some evenings and weekends.

Carry out all and any additional duties and assignments as directed by the Executive Director.

II. COURT RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review all social services reports and court documents received (notices, orders, etc.).

Maintain court summaries of Juvenile Court proceedings on summary ‘Green’ sheets and relay information to your advocate.

Enter all data required by the Judicial Council (Title IV-E) and California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) into Optima database.

III. VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION / SUPPORT:

Provide ongoing support services for volunteers using the Volunteer retention and recognition plan.

SUPERVISION:

Case Supervisors report directly to the Executive Director. The Program Manager will also provide guidance, supervision, and support.

PAY RATE:

This is a full-time position. The compensation rate is $18.00 per hour. The benefit package is detailed in the CASA of Humboldt Personnel Manual.
