POSITION SUMMARY: The Emergency Operations Center Assistant is a 1.75 year grant funded position designed to help Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria prevent, respond to, and prepare for the next wave of COVID-19 and increase our ability to effectively respond to the ongoing crisis. The assistant will be required to help the Incident Commander manage and meet all grant objectives, including tracking inventory, data and making reports. The assistant will respond to COVID-19 crises, order necessary outreach materials and emergency supplies, and conduct outreach in the Bear River community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Support Tribal members in accessing materials necessary to respond to and prevent COVID-19.

Assist Incident Commander in tracking and effectively managing grant goals and objectives.

Assist Incident Commander in arranging COVID-19 trainings for the Bear River workforce.

Conduct routine outreach activities aligned with current information available from the U.S. Center for Disease Control.

Assist in responding to COVID-19 crisis situations.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and providers.

Maintain professional behavior at all times.

Attend all required trainings.

Complete all required paperwork and progress notes in a timely fashion.

Other assignments as deemed necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risks of Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria tribal members.

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Must be able to pass a drug test.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)

At least one (1) year of related work experience

Demonstrated emotional stability, adaptability, patience, self-control, and tact.

Must possess good communication skills, a professional appearance, have good judgment in moral, ethical, cultural, and spiritual matters.

Must be able to work independently and as a team member.

Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing.

Must have cultural sensitivity to the needs of the Indian community.

Able to handle multiple issues at once.

Must be willing to work evening hours as needed.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Shall possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance.
