POSITION SUMMARY
The Temporary HR and Office Assistant provides support to the HQ Human Resources Department as well as overall office support. Duties will focus primarily on HR data entry related to Internewsâ benefit programs, auditing of electronic personnel files and documents, as well as general administrative and operational office support. Proven ability to maintain confidential information and a professional support-based attitude are crucial to the success of this role.
This is a temporary position, starting immediately through September. Hours will typically be 40 per week with a possible part-time schedule in September.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, with other duties upon request:
Supports the onboarding and offboarding of staff members through the distribution, collection, and filing of documentation.
Maintains HR data in ERP, ATS, Electronic Personnel files, and benefit vendor websites related to hire, benefits changes, and separations, including initiating COBRA packages.
Monitor benefits@ email traffic and ensure Senior HR Analyst receives all employee inquiries about benefits.
Prepare new hire benefit enrollment confirmation emails for Senior HR Analyst.
Manage and document communications with payroll regarding benefits charges and tax implications.
Perform detailed audits of personnel files for accuracy and completeness
Supporting members of the department with administrative tasks and projects as requested, and which may include:
Onboarding and offboarding personnel data entry
Electronic file organization
General office/facilities support

Required
2+ years office administration and data entry experience
Ability to handle confidential and/or sensitive information
Prior experience with databases
Strong grasp of Microsoft Windows environment including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Explorer
Organized, logical, detail-oriented
Ability to take direction, yet work independently and complete tasks on time
Experience working in collaborative team environment
Strong writing and grammar skills, strong interpersonal skills
Internet savvy
Preferred
HR or Accounting experience
Prior experience working in an HRIS
University degree, or equivalent, preferred
