DESCRIPTION:
We are a custom cabinet shop looking for a Shop Foreman to run our day to day operations here in Blue Lake. The Foreman directly oversees and manages materials procurement, Training and production scheduling. He/She is accountable for meeting schedules, achieving cost goals, and the quality of the delivered and installed product.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Production management training and/or equivalent experience
(Preferred 4 year degree in construction management or equivalent experience)
2. Minimum 3 years experience in wood product production and some experience in a foreman or scheduling role
(Preferred 5 or more years of experience in wood product production and 2 years experience as a foreman or production scheduling role)
3. Expert knowledge of managing projects, construction materials, building processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for optimizing solid wood bar construction.
4. Excellent coordination skills and possesses integrity and trustworthiness.
5. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from sales rep, vendors, finance, and general manager.
6. Able to effectively communicate, in English, verbally, and in writing.
7. Makes sound decisions in a timely matter that takes into consideration objectives, risks, implications, costs, values, and overall company strategy.
8. Displays strong leadership and negotiation skills that produce positive outcomes for all parties.
9. Possesses strong interpersonal skills to resolve conflict and competing priorities as well as manage diverse personalities.
10. Works with general manager, finance lead, and staff to prepare and update budgets and tracks the necessary metrics to assure performance that meets budget goals.
11. Able to maintain confidentiality about company matters such as price and cost schedules, company finances, or any information about the company to vendors, and clients that may be interpreted as unethical and which can result in immediate termination.
12. Must be a skilled woodworking craftsman, able to perform all duties and responsibilities of the assembler at an expert level to help meet capacity needs and monitor quality of production work.
13. Valid California drivers license with good driving record and reliable transportation. Trailer towing experience is a plus.
This position is a long term position for an extremely reliable and dependable individual. Alcohol and drug Problems need not apply. We are a dog-free shop, please don't bring your pup to sit in the car all day.
